TEAM S.W.A.T.

Team S.W.A.T.

History

Team s.w.a.t .was born in 1984 with a hand full of good friends and family members, being a family based team many aspects of this ethos carries right through to present day.
With its initial roots in paintball and combat sports all over the world s.w.a.t. has carried the banner for the united kingdom into Europe both paintball and a pioneering influence into airsoft.
In 2001 s.w.a.t. airsoft was born and created and ran the first three big games in Europe at our old site in halkyn, north wales, although numbers only sat at 300 players, this was the start of big games within Europe with teams travelling from Europe and America to take part.
We ran a series of three big games from 2001 to 2003 then hung up our sword to let others pave a way with the formula we created.
Our efforts from that point where to relocate closer to Liverpool and develop our urban site projects which we did with three consecutive venues, Saighton camp Chester, area51 in Shotton Deeside and fortress in the heart of Liverpool. The kyln being the latest addition with further plans to spider across Merseyside offering players the vast pool of experience and professionalism s.w.a.t. has offered its family of fans since the inception of airsoft.

Fallen hero's

This section is in respect to the people that have helped and influenced team s.w.a.t. over the last three decades, they have been directly involved, influenced and their actions, art, works made a positive impact on our team over the years in so many different aspects.

Rob Gillam

Rob Gilliam.
Born 19.9.1943 left us 30.10.2016.
Team s.w.a.t. captain from 1985 up until 2016.
Rob introduced himself to me in June of 1985 saying he was advised by his doctors to take up a more relaxing sport rather than motorsport, where he had suffered some serious injuries.
His wit and dry humour was the cement that paved a way to a long friendship with no daylight between us, despite the adversity and politics professional paintball spawned.
He took a group of rag tag players and moulded them into one of the longest established teams in the United Kingdom.
This carried on into airsoft where again rob was the support behind the team to make it happen.
A wise old fox and a true friend who wanted nothing other than to shoot fools.
Lovingly know as granddad, his passing left a empty space in my soul that can never be filled, but I’m not sad, but look back on his life and our involvement and grin at all the silly things we did which was pure rob’s craziness. Rest in peace rob and I’ll see you on the other side one day grandad love nutz xx

Chester charles bennington

Chester Bennington. Chester Charles Bennington (March 20, 1976 – July 20, 2017) was an American singer and songwriter best known as the frontman for the rock band Linkin Park. He was also the lead singer for Dead by Sunrise and fronted Stone Temple Pilots from 2013 to 2015.
His work and passion merged into the ethos and spirit of the team across the years with many a trip to concerts and beer ups.
A true genius and artist that inspired so many aspects of peoples lives with his powerful and meaningful words, a true loss to us all. nutz 20/07/2017
